New Trainer

Well we've finally hired a new trainer here at the barn. He seemed like a nice guy when I met him the other day. Now we will hopefully get some work done arounf here. Since I haven't gotten around to writing for a while I thought I'd let everyone know that a friend of mine Evan was in a wreck 2 weeks ago. It was pretty bad He broke his neck, all but 2 of his ribs, and both collar bones. Luckily he is doing really well he got out of the hospital and into a rehab facility yesterday. I am going to be really busy for a while because in what little spare time I have I'm going to be riding his horses for him. I do hope everybody went and voted today. Well I'd better get going talk to everyone later.

Well guys same old same old here in Grandview. Things are going good here at the barn I think I forgot to tell everyone that the horse in the pic on here died in January. I lost my baby to colic at 2 1/2. I have a new horse now an older white gelding that I used to ride at the ranch I worked on. I thought he should have it a little easier for the rest of his life he's now semi retired I only ride about once a week. That boy thinks he's in heaven not havin to work every day. Well gotta go.

Changes in my world

Well just to let everyone know there have been some changes in my life. I am now working 3 part time jobs. I am a cook at the BBQ place here in town on weeknights, I work as a jailer/dispatcher on weekends at the Sheriff's office and, and on weekdays I am riding horses for one of the deputies. I also have 2 of my own horses that I work with.

The cooking job is ok but it gets really boring doing the same thing every day. The other problem with that job is the people that work there. It seems like im sooo old because the other employees act so young and immature.

The jailer job is ok too. At least its not so boring, theres always something new happening.

My horses, thats what makes me happy. I have a 2 year old filly named Blue and 5 year old mare names Style. Blue is coming along really well and took to a saddle like it was nothing. Style is an awesome little mare even though every once in a while she does give me a little attitude.

first blog

Hello eveyone. I'm gonna give this a shot. Life on the ranch is gettin kinda interesting these days. We now have over 2,000 head of cattle, 10 buffalo, 10 donkeys, and 18 horses on 2000 acres. On top of all that we have guests from all over the world come and stay with us and hunters as well. The guests are always entertaining. I even get some pretty good tips from them sometimes. Right now I am learning the wonderful art of trimming and shoeing. I dont think I'm very good at it though. We have our yearly cattle drive coming up in 3 weeks and that will be pretty cool. Its the only time of the year when I don't have to really worry about the guests as much. We only take guests that know how to ride really well and can take care of themselves. There is too much to worry about without having to constantly watching over them. Well thats all I have for now. bye.
